WU No. 24 -- Special Tax Edition

This weekend it's time to rage even harder at what the government has stolen from us over the past year.  Our favored tax preparation software takes it a step further, pointing out exactly how our money is wasted.  In our specific case (your pain may vary)...

national defense                                          20%
veterans & foreign affairs                              4%
Medicaid, food stamps, etc.                         14%
unemployment                                              6%
Social Security, Medicare                              37%
interest on debt                                             8%
community development                                9%
law enforcement & general government        2%

Even if the bloated military budget were not cut by one cent, a nearly constitutional government would cost us only 26% of what we currently pay in taxes -- a savings of 74%!  Yes, for us, government is almost exactly 3/4 welfare and debt servicing.  Yet liberals are perplexed that the citizenry is enraged.  Can it be a coincidence that...

Election 2012: Barack Obama 42%, Ron Paul 41%, by Rasmussen Reports
Ron Paul's message is a winner, but this result is still amazing.  How many presidential candidates would run articles such as the following three on their website?

'Sedition' Purges -- Past, Present, and Future, by William Norman Grigg
"The state can murder whom it pleases. This is the system we have. This is what you support when you support Barack Obama.... If you support Obama now, in this, then there is no crime he can commit that you will not support. And thus you become one of those people that we all used to puzzle over, the accomodationists to brutal tyranny: 'How did all those people go along with the Nazis? Why wasn't there more opposition to Stalin? How could they countenance all those obvious abominations? What kind of people were they?' Now you know. They were you. You are them."

Foes of tea party movement to infiltrate rallies, by Valerie Bauman
Disgusting reading.  There is no limit to the depravity of the left.

We end with a single non-political article, but will politicize it by noting that the grain-based food pyramid is published and promoted by none other than the FDA.

White bread, rice, and other carbs boost heart disease risk in women, by Denise Mann
Women, go paleo.  Besides living longer, you'll lose weight, too.
